How does Sculptra work?
1. Sculptra is mixed with sterile water and injected into the deep subcutaneous layer.
2. The skin looks plumper immediately after the injection due to the volume of water injected.
3. After 2-3 days, the water and other components are absorbed by the body, leaving only Sculptra particles. As a result, deep lines and wrinkles may become visible again.
4. Sculptra then begins to stimulate the body’s immune system, drawing macrophages to surround the many Sculptra particles and signaling fibroblast cells to gather in greater numbers.
5. Fibroblasts are cells that produce collagen fibers, a key component of the skin’s structure, helping the skin become stronger and firmer.
6. Over time, Sculptra gradually disappears, leaving behind collagen fibers that accumulate and restore the skin’s strength and structure over the long term.
7. Helps lift and tighten the face and restore skin quality for up to 25 months.
People who should not receive Sculptra injections
• Do not use in people with a history of hypersensitivity to any of the product’s ingredients.
• Do not use Sculptra mixed with lidocaine in people with a history of hypersensitivity to lidocaine.
• Do not use in people with a history of severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis.
• Do not use if there are active lesions, such as inflammation (skin with a rash, such as cysts, acne, rashes, or hives), infection, or tumors in the nearby area, until the condition is under control.
• People who have had or are prone to keloids or raised scars; people receiving immunosuppressive treatment; pregnant or breastfeeding women; people with bleeding disorders; or people using substances that affect platelet function, blood thinners, or anticoagulants may experience bruising, hematomas, or localized bleeding.

Post-injection care
1. Apply a cold gel pack to the treated area during the first 24 hours to help reduce swelling.
2. Avoid makeup, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours.
3. Avoid sunlight and UV light until the swelling has subsided.
4. Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 consecutive days. Ask your treating physician for instructions on how to massage.
