How does Sculptra work?

1. Sculptra is mixed with sterile water and injected into the deep subcutaneous layer.

2. The skin looks immediately fuller after injection due to the volume of water injected.

3. After 2-3 days, water and other components are absorbed by the body, leaving only Sculptra particles, which may cause deep lines and wrinkles to reappear.

4. Then, Sculptra begins to stimulate the body's immune system by attracting macrophage cells to surround many Sculptra particles and signaling fibroblast cells to gather more.

5. Fibroblasts are progenitor cells that produce collagen fibers, which are the main components of the skin structure, making the skin strong and firm.

Those who are prohibited from receiving Sculptra injections

• Do not use in individuals with hypersensitivity to any components of the product.

• Do not use Sculptra products mixed with lidocaine in individuals with a history of hypersensitivity to lidocaine.

• Do not use in individuals with severe allergic reactions or a history of anaphylaxis.

• Do not use if there are active lesions such as inflammation (skin with rashes like cysts, acne, rash, or hives), infection, or tumors nearby until symptoms are controlled.

• Those who have had or are sensitive to keloid or raised scars, those treated with immunosuppressive drugs, pregnant or breastfeeding women, those with abnormal bleeding conditions, or those using substances affecting platelet function, blood thinners, or anticoagulants may experience slow bruising, hematoma, or localized bleeding.

Post-injection instructions

1. Apply a cold gel pack to the treated area within the first 24 hours to help reduce swelling.

2. Avoid makeup, sauna, and steam bath for 24 hours.

3. Avoid sunlight and UV light until the swelling subsides.

4. Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times consecutively for 5 days. You can ask the treating doctor about the massage method.
